Stanley M. Schwarz, Esquire, the founding Principal of the law firm of Stanley M. Schwarz, Professional Corporation, was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and served as an Infantry Officer during the Korean War. In 1958, Mr. Schwarz graduated from Temple University Law School with honors, and was the Managing Editor of the Temple Law Quarterly. He was then appointed as a Judicial Law clerk for the prestigious Court of Common Pleas No. 6 in Philadelphia County. In 1960, Mr. Schwarz was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia, a position in which he served for six years, the last two at the request of former District Attorney and present U.S. Senator Arlen Specter. During that period, Mr. Schwarz successfully prosecuted numerous high profile cases.
Mr. Schwarz began his own private law practice in 1967 and is regarded as a pioneer and pre-eminent civil rights and personal injury litigator. He represents numerous individuals who have sustained severe and serious injuries which resulted from construction and workplace accidents, medical and healthcare negligence, occupational disease, reckless motor vehicle and trucking operators as well as negligent product manufactures. Mr. Schwarz’ success also include numerous verdicts and settlements in the million(s) dollar range beginning in the 1970s.
During his long career, he has served as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Law Examiners, as a Master and Judge Pro Tem appointed by the Court of Common Pleas and as a State Court and Federal Court Arbitrator in numerous cases. In addition, he has been a long time member of the Pennsylvania of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America
